Let the updates begin again!
I have had a recent little bump up in followers, which has left me feeling super guilty that I haven’t been posting absolutely anything! So here we are with the life updates aaagain.
First of all, I want to acknowledge some of my newer followers for being awesome artists themselves! Heres a few URL’s for you guys to check out!
http://adrenaline-art-binge.tumblr.com - Great cartoonist, and a flood of unique concepts for photographs!
http://luseboy.tumblr.com - Another Californian who has got some TALENT with film.
http://createshitgetmoney.tumblr.com - Overall wonderful blog right here, posts tons of art!!
As some of you know, I have recently started community college which leaves my free time to sit behind a computer and edit photos very limited. I am loving school so far, and found out the exact course of action I need to take in order to be able to transfer to Brooks Institute to study photojournalism here in the next few years, which makes sitting in a classroom for hours much more bearable!
My cousin (who I’ve mentioned in life updates before) moved from Alaska to Washington this past summer - WOOO! Meaning I get to go on a road trip to Seattle from Sacramento, visit Sasquatch Music Fest for a couple days, drink at all the amazing local breweries, and meditate in the most beautiful and peaceful surroundings that the states have to offer, giving me tons of new photographic opportunities. So look forward to that in a few months!
Also, since he and I are so close spiritually and personality wise, we are considering having me move up there to attend a different art school (research will be done on the trip). We hope that through living closer, we would be able to do some great energetic work on the universe because we have found that having the same blood makes our energetic bond stronger than even the ones connected to those we have known our whole lives.
Anyway, I’ll either be in Ventura or Seattle permanently in the next few years, WISH ME LUCK.
For now though, I absolutely love where I am in my life.
Work is going extremely well. Recently, I have been doing TONS of hour massages along with my normal shifts at work. Through this, I have found that the quality time I get to work with someone to bring them to a state of healing and balance has inspired a whole new love for what I do. When I first started in massage, I had no clue what I was getting into. I had never had a professional massage, let alone stepped into a spa or even thought about doing so. Now, I understand the importance of taking care of our bodies, or “pampering ourselves” as we tend to call it since we always seem to put ourselves last, and I know that I am truly blessed to be able to be the one that people can, and do, come to when they need healing or a break from the daily stresses of life. Also, I got the wonderful opportunity to do massages for the accountants at an awesome tax firm. Seeing as I have always wondered what it would be like to work in a sleek office with cubicles everywhere, it was a dream come true, because instead of having to sit behind a computer inside of one of those cubicles, I got to be there to bring people out of theirs and push their restart buttons (aka that pesky knot in their right shoulder from mousing/number key punching)! What a better way to spend a Friday afternoon, right?
Hell, what a way to be LIVIVNG!
I think that should be a good amount of information about whats going on in my life at the moment (if not too much), so lets cut it off there!
Any questions are cool, you know where to find my ask. Also any suggestions on places to visit while I’m on my vacation would be WONDERFUL! Be back soon guys
Story of my grandpa defeating the musical card.
One day my grandpa was cleaning his garage and found a musical card that someone gave my grandma years ago. He was so surprised it still worked that he decided to leave it open so he could see how long the battery actually lasts. The next few weeks (or months? I lost track) consisted of my grandpa bursting into our house with the card in hand, progressively seeming more and more deranged, yelling “THIS DARN THING IS STILL SINGING, I WANT TO THROW IT OUT” until one day he came over looking extremely satisfied and showed us the open card that no longer played music.
